A popular form of romance is the ‘pocket lit’ book. It is cheap (under two euros) and portable. Although this particular artifact presents a somewhat sultry looking female in a suggestive pose, this is not the norm for such publications. The covers are generally not sexually explicit or even suggestive, but exhibit heterosexual couples holding hands or looking into each others eyes. In short, the covers tend to indicate rather generic, friendly romances suitable for just about anyone.
